
The CIBAC-Partylist represented by its President, Senator Joel Villanueva paid a visit in Iloilo City on Thursday, March 27.
Villanueva noted the current advocacies and future plans of the group which aim to benefit Filipinos, higlighting the concerns regarding corruption which is considered as a major problem in the country.
He highlighted one of the government’s programs—Republic Act (RA) No. 11509, known as “Doktor Para sa Bayan Act” which aims to establish public school of medicine in different regions across the country that will give scholarship programs for medical students.
He also reaffirmed his strong support for WVSU and its programs as it served as an example for the implementation of medical schools in other regions.
Villanueva also cited the implementation of the “Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Act” or the Republic Act 12124 which gives an opportunity for working professionals to earn a college degree by having their work experience credited for career advancement.
Villanueva also cited the Senate’s plan to investigate on the Department of Health (DOH) regarding to the Commission on Audit’s report in medicine wastage that reached Php11.18 billion in 2023.
Moreover, Villanueva backed Pastor Stanley “Big Bro” Flores for councilor in Iloilo City for the upcoming mid-term election on May 2025.
He also reminded the public to be vigilant in voting for their bets, stressing to check their track records for the welfare of the country.
