PASSINHON AUTHOR HONORS FAMILY WITH BOOK LAUNCH AND CHARITY INAUGURATION

Passinhon Author Ms. Lori Fundal Pilatan hosted a Book Launching alongside a Charity Inauguration at the City of Passi Arena (COPA) on Saturday, July 12.

The book launching featured various literary works of Pilatan including “Rising Above Challenges and Adversities” which tackles the journey, resilience, and challenges faced by the Pilatan’s ancestors while another one entitled “Filoteo A. Palmares Sr., The Grand Old Man of Passi” tackles the story of the remarkable journey of Filoteo Palmares Sr. and his family, highlighting their contributions to Passi’s growth, progress, and more.

Palmares’ grandson, Filoteo Palmares III expressed gratitude to Pilatan for their efforts in telling the journey, contributions, and impact of his grandfather through a book for others to discover the late senior’s legacy.

Filoteo Palmares Sr., known as “Pilot”, served as Passi’s Commonwealth Mayor for a decade from 1935 to 1945, and was elected as Passi’s Municipal Mayor for 11 years from 1948 to 1959.

Moreover, Pilatan, who worked as a caregiver, shared her journey and passion for writing, wherein it was considered as a “gift” from God. Her love for formal education served as an instrument and motivation to write stories in connection with her homeland. She also acknowledged the impact of Palmares Sr. on the life of her father, Salvador, which also created a positive change to their family and also the lives of Passinhons.

Meanwhile, the Pilatan Clan Charity Inauguration featured the family members whose aim is to continue sharing the legacy and support of their scholars and other beneficiaries.

The said launching event coincided with the Pilatan Grand Reunion, bringing together various degrees of family members, from immediate to extended family.
