‘PEOPLE-FIRST GOVERNANCE’

Iloilo Mayor Raisa Treñas unveils 42 bold initiatives in her first 100 Days

In a powerful debut State of the City Address (SOCA), Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas stood before a packed crowd at the historic Ker & Co. building and proudly declared a new era of people-first governance. Just 100 days into her term, she rolled out an impressive slate of 42 transformative programs designed to bring government services closer to every Ilonggo.

Anchored on the Rise-To-Action Pillars, namely, Rising Health and Social Services, Rising Economy, and Rising Livability, Treñas laid out a clear roadmap for inclusive progress. At the heart of her vision is the acronym ACTION, representing:

*Access to quality education and social services

*Comprehensive health and wellness

*Trabaho at Negosyo opportunities

*Immersive tourism and cultural experiences

*Orderly and safe communities

*Nature-based resilience and sustainability

The city’s new Atipan Center — a one-stop hub for medical, financial, burial, livelihood, and educational assistance — has already served over 3,000 residents. From E-Health Tawag (telehealth services) to RISEMed (free medicines), the city is delivering care straight to people’s homes. Specialized programs also support pregnant women, solo parents, children with special needs, and youth development.

Recognizing the urgent need for jobs, Treñas launched a recruitment center, expanded skills training, and boosted support for micro, small, and medium enterprises — fueling local growth and innovation.

Iloilo City’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. It’s now recognized as:

*One of the Most Promising Cities for Public Transport

*A Top 5 Most Business-Friendly LGU

*The Startup Champion of Western Visayas

Treñas stressed that Iloilo City is not just moving forward—it is rising with purpose, compassion, and unstoppable momentum.

“Mga pinalangga ko nga Ilonggo, we build from the past, we act in the present, and we rise for the future. Together, we will write the next chapter of the Iloilo Miracle—an enduring legacy for our children and for all who will inherit tomorrow,” she said.
