SAN JOSE, Antique – Congressman Antonio “AA” Legarda has been officially proclaimed as the Representative of the Lone District of Antique for a second term.
Legarda obtained 210,499 votes that made him win against his opponent outgoing Governor Rhodora Cadiao.
With unwavering gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in him by the people of Antique, he promises to sustain the momentum of progress and bring the province to greater heights.
Legarda acknowledged that his re-election is both an honor and a profound responsibility. He assures Antiqueños that their voices will be heard and that his second term will be dedicated to advancing the programs and initiatives he has started.
He affirmed his commitment to ensuring that every decision, policy, and initiative he pursues will be guided by the needs and aspirations of the province.
Congressman Legarda extended his heartfelt gratitude to his sister, Senator Loren Legarda, for her unwavering support and dedication to the province. He acknowledges her contributions to Antique’s development and expresses his appreciation for their shared vision of empowering the people and strengthening the province’s future.
Senator Legarda lauded the reelection of her brother calling it not just a personal triumph but a victory for the people of Antique.
She emphasized that their brand of leadership is rooted in genuine public service and a shared commitment to uplift the lives of Antiqueños.
Since first being elected in 2022, Congressman Legarda has built on the legacy of his sister, who once served as Antique’s lone district representative and is the only Antiqueña to have become Deputy Speaker of the House.
Their leadership has focused on strengthening social services—particularly in healthcare, education, and livelihood—while also pushing for key infrastructure projects such as the Antique Airport in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique Convention Center, Paliwan and Nasuli-Vilvar Bridges, Pandan Ecotourism Road, and the Panay East-West Road, among many projects that will open up Antique to the provinces of Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz through other routes. This will generate tourism, and foster trade of goods.

Senator Legarda assured the public that her brother and she will continue to advance development initiatives pledging her full support to efforts in delivering meaningful progress for the province and its people.
Congressman Legarda calls on Antiqueños to work alongside him, fostering unity and determination to drive the province toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
All the 17 Mayors under the Team Legarda also won the 2025 Mid-term Election.
