‘ENHANCED LPTRP’

Iloilo City readies for implementation of enhanced LPTRP.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas is happy
with the approval of the Land Transportation
Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)
of the city’s amended Local Public Transport
Route Plan (LPTRP).
Last March 21, 2023, LTFRB Region 6 Transportation
Development Officer II Joshua Gacquit personally turned
over to Mayor Treñas the “enhanced” LPTRP approved
by their central office.
LTFRB approved the 25 routes proposed by the city
government in the “enhanced” LPTRP.
To recall, the city’s LPTRP was suspended in July 2022
due to massive criticisms from the riding public and the
business community.
The city government called for a series of consultations
with the different sectors to review the routes then
submitted the amendments to the LTFRB.
In his letter to Mayor Treñas, LTFRB chairman Atty.
Teofilo Guadiz III said: “Upon deliberation of the Board,
such request (referring to the enhancement of the LPTRP)
